African-inspired homecoming flyer with 12 editable Type layers, 14 native Shapes, 2 cut masks and 4 embedded Smart Objects. 2700 × 3900 pixels at 300 ppi; fonts included.

Description

Roots Return is an original African-inspired homecoming festival flyer with a carved mask centerpiece, angular heavyweight ROOTS / RETURN typography and a layered paper collage. Saffron yellow, vermilion, rust red, charcoal and warm ivory create a striking editorial look for cultural events, music weekends and community celebrations.

All event copy is in English. COMMON GROUND, the venue, date and other details are fictional editable placeholders, not an advertisement for a real event. The mask is an original generated raster artwork, not a documentary photograph or an authenticated artifact from a named culture. Decorative motifs are graphic design elements, not a translation or claim about sacred symbols.

Template details

  • 2700 × 3900 pixels at exact 300 ppi; 9 × 13 inches; RGB 8-bit with an embedded sRGB profile.
  • 12 genuine editable Type layers: 10 directly in the master and 2 in embedded headline PSD Smart Objects.
  • 14 native editable Shape layers and 2 reversible vector cut masks for the angular headline treatment.
  • 4 embedded Smart Objects: the mask artwork, cellophane texture and two live-Type headline PSDs.
  • 8 organized groups separate major design components.

Editing the template

Install the included Roots Block and Roots Sans fonts before opening the PSD. Supporting event copy is native editable Type. Open the ROOTS or RETURN Smart Object to change its live Type, save the embedded PSD and refresh the master. Headline transformations are applied outside the live text source to preserve stable editing. Cut masks and native Shapes can be adjusted independently; longer replacement words may need layout adjustments.

The mask image and cellophane surface texture are separate raster Smart Objects. Individual painted details on the mask are not separate vector shapes. The clean master and full-resolution JPEG do not contain the preview watermark. Only the public preview is watermarked.

Roots Block and Roots Sans are renamed derivatives of Archivo Black and Barlow Condensed SemiBold. Original fonts, modification notes and SIL Open Font License files are included. Font family/style metadata was adjusted for reliable selection on reopening; the selected glyph outlines and metrics were preserved.

Resolution and print preparation

The mask source is 1024 × 1536 pixels and is placed at 1150 × 1725 pixels, approximately 267 effective source ppi. The 1024 × 1536 cellophane texture covers the 2700 × 3900 canvas, approximately 114 effective source ppi; it is intentionally a surface texture, not a native 4K photograph. Type and vector graphics remain independently editable.

No extra bleed allowance is supplied. Confirm trim, bleed and CMYK conversion with your printer while keeping the RGB master. This is a digital download; no physical product is shipped.

Technical validation

Authored and tested in Patchy 1.15. Actual text, Shape, Smart Object and mask editing was followed by save, reopen and restore checks. The restored text retained its fonts and ink bounds, and the full restored composite matched the original render exactly. Adobe Photoshop desktop GUI testing was not performed; identical rendering in every PSD application is not guaranteed.

An independent PSD layer-stack rendering was inspected at full layout and in 400% crops. No missing artwork or unintended text overlap was found. Minor edge-antialiasing and blending differences remain between renderers; these are documented in the supplied QA report.

Included files

The ZIP contains the editable master PSD, separate convenience copies of both headline source PSDs, clean full-resolution JPEG, protected preview, original raster assets, fonts with originals and licenses, README editing guide, technical QA report and checksums. Use a PSD editor supporting native Type, Shapes, vector masks and embedded Smart Objects. The clean JPEG provides a visual reference for checking rendering in your editor.
